The Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) which was held three times for the 2013 academic year MBA admissions has put MBA colleges & students at lurch. In few states there is no clarity on the counselling procedure for the government quota seats in University affiliated MBA colleges. Students who have taken CMAT are now in a dilemma, what next after getting CMAT Rank? Will there be PGCET? WIll the state governments rethink on their decision? These are the main concerns.
In the current scenario, getting an admission in an MBA college is not that difficulty but the challenge for the students & parents is in choosing the best MBA college. Students & parents are hoping that the state government or AICTE to step up and make a public announcement about the counselling process in the respective states.
Talking to careermitra.com, Spurthi final year B.Tech student from Karnataka expressed her views as how much confused she & her parents are in. In her words, I exactly don’t know what to do with my CMAT rank. I am also worried whether we have to take PGCET to avail state quota seats or will it be fine with CMAT. I have given the exam hoping to secure admission in a reputed MBA college through merit & state level quota. Why would I pay management fee and take up an University MBA after giving CMAT, she said.
Candidates who have burnt mid night oil to prepare for such highly hyped management entrance exam are now seeking for quick response from the respective state examination authorities.
This year, the changes that happened in the education system honestly have not yielded fruitful results. NEET UG (an entrance exam which replaced all state level medical & dental entrance exams) & CMAT (which replaced all state level PG entrance exams are best examples.
