The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has made it clear that the MBA Admissions in all AICTE approved colleges will only be made through CMAT merit list. The CMAT (Common Management Aptitude Test) which was held twice for this academic year MBA Admissions has seen less participation and AICTE has announced that it will conduct another CMAT during May 2013 for those who couldn’t appear for the earlier CMAT tests.
As per the rules, 50% of seats in MBA colleges approved by AICTE are to be filled through merit list of the CMAT. Earlier the seats were filled through PGCET but this year as the PGCETs are scraped in several states, the students have to sit for CMAT. Due to lack of awareness if students have missed taking CMAT then it is a good opportunity to appear for May CMAT. The fee for the students taking CMAT and joining in their home state will be as per the government norms.
