Lack of awareness on CMAT among students puts B-Schools in trouble

Business Schools will be worst hit this year as the less popular CMAT (Common Management Aptitude Test) replaces state level PG entrance tests. 12 states have given their consent to accept CMAT instead of conducting their state level PGCETs, the national level CMAT is held twice a year once during September and again in February. The second CMAT which is to be held from 21-02-2013 to 25-02-2013 ONLINE, this is the final test for the current academic year. As per reports since very few students have registered for February CMAT, the Business Schools project tragedy and estimate that the number of empty chairs & benches this year will sky up.

Few states are of the opinion to request AICTE to conduct CMAT once again or allow them to conduct PGCET. According to the protocol the state quota seats so far used to be filled through a counselling process basing on the PGCET ranks, but this year AICTE mandated CMAT for all MBA colleges under it’s ambit. However the information has not reached the MBA aspirants properly and students aren’t sure whether the state level CETs are replaced.

If AICTE doesn’t allow the state governments to conduct PGCET, the Business Schools are sure to see student crunch. Share your views!
