Kerala MBA aspirants should appear for CMAT

Kerala has about 60 Business Schools, from coming academic year onwards students interested in pursuing MBA should appear for CMAT. CMAT (The Common Management Aptitude Test) conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was launched a year ago, the test will only be held ONLINE. AICTE has announced that CMAT will be held twice a year, thus allowing the students to submit best of the two scores. CMAT will be held once in September & February, both scores are valid upto 1 year.

The September CMAT 2012 has been concluded, only 60,000 MBA aspirants have registered out of which 48,000 students have appeared. It is too early to predict how many students will appear for February CMAT, the testing dates announced are from 21-02-2013 to 25-02-2013. The registration process for February CMAT 2013 has started, the last date to register is mentioned as 02 January 2013.

Since CMAT is an ONLINE only test, the question thus arises is how it reaches rural students? On the other hand Management Aptitude Test (MAT) has both versions ONLINE & OFFLINE. Colleges are fearing that their seats may go vacant if CMAT fails to reach masses.
