The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has relaxed the eligibility norms for Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course according to a report. Earlier students with only mathematics background in +2 were eligible to take admission in MCA course. The rule has now been amended, according to the new rule either students should have mathematics as a subject in +2 or in graduation.
Number of MCA seats are being left out across all states, since students with BCA, BA, B.Sc without studying Mathematics at the higher secondary school level are ineligible for MCA. It is unclear whether NITs too fall inline with the new eligibility norms or not, NIMCET as of now doesn’t allow students without mathematics in +2.
