Maharashtra Will Adopt Kapil Sibal’s One Nation One Test

As a major boost to the upcoming common engineering entrance test, the Maharashtra government reportedly has given nod to the Kapil Sibal’s one nation one test. Maharashtra government will give 50 per cent weightage to marks scored by students of both English and non-English medium schools in their class XII exam.

As reported before IITs, NITs, IIITs and few centrally funded Institutes will be using a single entrance test, IITJEE will be named as Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) as it is no longer an exclusive test for IITs. JEE from 2013 will be held as JEE Main and JEE Advanced, while Institutes which were accepting AIEEE will use JEE Main score without bothering JEE Advanced score. IITs will go on to have JEE Advanced for selected number of students who score well in JEE Main & Board Exam marks.
