The number of students who will appear for the EAMCET Engineering counselling is lesser than the total number of Engineering seats. Private engineering colleges are fearing about the number of seats which may go vacant this year, it is expected that 200,000 seats will go vacant. The delay in announcing the EAMCET counselling schedule will cost colleges, as students have opted engineering colleges from neighbor states Karnataka, Tamilnadu & Kerala.

Last year in Andhra Pradesh five engineering colleges didn’t even have a single student, 44 colleges had less than 10 students. This year the situation will be worst, thanks to delay and the fee hassle between state government and private college managements. The situation may go even worst in Hyderabad as parents are fearing to admit their wards in Hyderabad because of the regular strikes due to Telangana agitation.
