It should have been a pleasant Monday for students had they written the entrance exam of SRM University on 06 May 2012 (Sunday). The Chennai based SRM University is a private university founded in the year 1985 which went on to gain deemed status in the academic year 2003-2004. SRMEEE is an all India level engineering entrance examination which was slated to held on 06 May 2012 for admissions into B.Tech, B.Des, B. Arch, M.Tech, M.Arch, MCA & Ph.D courses.
Following a paper leak SRMEEE 2012 was cancelled in Andhra Pradesh, as per reports 150,000 students were set to appear for the test on Sunday. An ex student of SRM University was identified as the culprit who sold the question paper of SRMEEE 2012 with answer key. A local TV news channel has broken the news, Praneeth (man held responsible for the paper leak) was caught on the TV camera selling the question paper.
The test was cancelled at around 02:00 p.m on Sunday in Andhra Pradesh further course of action related to SRMEEE 2012 is yet to be made by the University officials stay tuned. It is still not clear whether the test in other States is valid or not, only in the State of Andhra Pradesh it was announced as cancelled.
This isn’t the first time in India, last year one of the country’s biggest engineering entrance exam AIEEE paper was also leaked.
