IITJEE 2012: Results To Be Declared On 18 May

It is matter of hours from now to know the JEE results officially, most aspirants by now will have calculated his or her marks through the answer key and ORS sheet displayed online. Certainly it is hard to predict the rank one will get based on the marks; over 520,000 students have applied for IITJEE; increased applicants can be attributed to fee waiver for female students. This year girl students were exempted from the application fee to increase participation in one of the country’s toughest engineering entrance exam.

Apart from the 15 IITs other Institutes which will admit students based on JEE scores are Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Rae Bareli, Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) and Indian Maritime University.

This year sectional cutoffs will play a role, student needs to score 10% in each subject i.e Maths, Physics & Chemistry and overall 35% marks are required to get a rank in IITJEE.
