Close To 40,000 Applicants For JIPMER MBBS Test For 127 Seats


Close to 40,000 applicants have applied to take part in the JIPMER MBBS Entrance Examination to be held on 27 May 2012. The online application process for JIPMER concluded on 27 April 2012, the hall tickets will be issued on 12 May 2012. Applicants who wish to check their application status can visit JIPMER website and provide registration number & date of birth.

Though JIPMER has a total of 145 seats only 127 seats will be filled through JIPMER Entrance Test, the rest 18 seats are filled by Central Government of India. The results are expected to be out with in two weeks post the test, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) is spread over a sprawling 195 acre campus in an urban locale of Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry), JIPMER is 170 kms. by road from Chennai.

The entrance test will be held in 12 centres, biometric finger print and image capture will be done for every candidate on the day of Examination inside the examination hall by the authorized personnel. The questions for JIPMER MBBS Entrance Examination 2012 will be based on the syllabus for XI & XII Standard as prescribed by State Board Hr. Sec. and CBSE.


The Entrance Examination will be of multiple choice type questions totaling 200 in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark. Zero mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question, will be deemed as incorrect response and no mark will be given. There is no NEGATIVE MARKING for incorrect answers.
