Datawind Blames IIT Rajasthan For Aakash Failure

Datawind the company which is instrumental in bringing out the world’s low cost tablet device (Aakash) blamed IIT Rajasthan on the failure of Aakash Tablet. Aakash Tablet was proposed in view to revolutionize the current education system, one laptop per child was the mission from Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The device was expected to meet the growing demand of digital content. It isn’t just books and class room lectures alone so much of knowledge learning happens through web.

Aakash did come at a very reasonable price but the pilot testing feedback suggested that the device is not meeting the expectations. IIT Rajasthan was blamed by Datawind saying the officials are looking us in a biased manner (according to TOI report). Despite efforts on Aakash, Datawind hasn’t got the recognition it deserved, the company will release newer version of Aakash tablets in the month of May.
