MCI & CBSE Keep Future Medicos Under Suspense

The medical education regulatory body MCI and the CBSE has kept the future medicos under constant suspense over the medical entrance exam this year. As these professional bodies couldn’t break the silence on whether NEET-UG is going to be held in 2012 or 2013.

When an announcement was made on CBSE website about the possibility of AIPMT in 2012; students had breathed easy hoping that this is a final decision. But what had worried these students is that the forms for AIPMT 2012 are not made available yet; few suspect this is an indication that NEET UG will take place in 2012.

Lately Supreme Court had fired MCI & Union Health Ministry on their proposal to defer NEET-UG by one year; the apex court wasn’t convinced and asked the petitioners to withdraw the affidavit or do what ever they want to. As SC doesn’t want to be a party with this decision of deferring NEET-UG.

The decision from Supreme Court is due for hearing again on January 10, 2012; the million dollar question hunting the future medicos is will NEET-UG gets deferred by a year or will it happen in 2012 itself.

  1. CBS AND MCI DESERVE TO BE AWARDED BY PRESIDENT OF INDIA FOR THEIR ABILITY TO KEEP FUTURE MEDICOS UNDER TENSION & PRESSURE FOR SUCH A LONG TIME.

  2. INTZAR KI GHADIAN KHATM HO GAI HAI TO FIR GET READY FOR AIPMT 2012

AIPMT 2012 app. form and related info is now available on aipmt website.

    all the best DOSTO

  3. i think its all a complete drama by mci just to show that they wer serious in implementing neet but their real intentions were never actualli to implement it .. otherwise such a authorised institution wouldnt simply announce neet ug and pg widout even agreement and complete settlement with da respective states takin into consideration all da other related issues like language problem etc. etc.. its nothin but mere drama jus playin eid the future of poor students

  4. they are plannig to ammend the notification of neet till 2013.. if they ware able to do then suprem court also will not do anything..

  5. Parents & Students do not lose their Faith & Hope in SC. The Drama which continues with NEET-UG will come to an end on 10-01-2012 when the Hearing comes in SC and the announcement for NEET-UG to be held on 13-05-2012 will come out.

  6. Digvijay singh, Datta Meghe , Pataang rao Kadm, Suresh Bhosle, Sharad Pawar, Rohidas Patil, Gowda, A Raja, NKP SALVE, SOMAIYA ke rahte aap neet ka sapna bhee nahi dekh sakte. NEET wiil be topic only at the discussion table. Think seriously, Powerful politicians have invested their large stake in pvt medical colleges, how they will allow to loose? This is their milking cow for their swiss and LGT accounts. Until and unless some hard decisions by SC and powerful arguments by Sh Amrendra saran come out, no body can imagine NEET.

  7. Confusion Confusion on NEET UG 2012
Why is CBSE slow to announce date for availability of forms for AIPMT – 2012

    * * * * *MCI is creating confusion* * * * *
“Since the apex court has refused to intervene in the matter, now we have no option but to amend the notification (dated December 21, 2010) to postpone the examination date for May 2013. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has already sent a proposal in this regard to the Health Ministry for its approval,” sources told The Pioneer.

However, the case has brought to the fore the ineffectiveness of the present Board of Governors (BOG) of the MCI, headed by Dr KK Talwar, which remained a mute spectator in the whole episode. In fact, it acted as desired by the Health Ministry, which was opposed to NEET from the day it was conceived in 2010 by the MCI BOG led by Dr SK Sarin.

Sources said, the current BOG could have appealed the Court to allow it to hold the NEET in the non-objecting states. “The CBSE was ready to hold the examination. Conducting it in some states would have given the Council an idea about the logistics as well as its efficacy.”

Very strange, as UPA ruled states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh are opposing. Was there any consensus among the UPA MP’s. Most of the medical/Dental colleges are in these four opposing states – TN, AP, Mahrashtra and Karnataka. If not now then never and next will be the last year for this UPA Govt. and year 2014 will be election year. If not now, even before announcing next year get the consent from the respective states.

So, will CBSE hold NEET UG 2012 for the 100% seats for states ready to join and for 15% seats (as usually for AIPMT)?? Do we have to wait for next hearing i.e., 10 Jan 2012 in Supreme-court
Though, may PMT’s has already been announced like manipal, comedk Kar., BHU, Bharti Vidyapeeth, Wardha etc. but students are waiting for the next final move by CBSE

    1. dude u have written well …..
talking about upa …… india biggest problem is that we have gandhi assholes running the nation and that we are the largest democracy. alliance makes the govt. in centre weak.

neet was proposed by sc so wether upa or nda this will be implemented.
don’t wait for neet ……… even mci has lost its hope .

  8. @b.k.Gupta
What u have written is correctm, but this is also true that Govt is not in mood to conduct neet in 2012 reason may be what u have written. now wait for sc decisssion on CBI application on 10th jan, many work which Govt were not willing to do had been done after sc decission like ,A.Raja, suresh Kalmadi and many other who were sent to jail.

but it is very clear that there is no issue of syllabus ,language and rural student, if it is so then how in a one year it will be resolved, again next year same drama will happen and finaly neet will never happen in india. Mr Gupta u like it or not but this is the fact so try to survive in surrounding atmosphere this kind of attitude will create inferioty complex.

NEW DELHI: The first ever single eligibility-cum-entrance examination for MBBS and post-graduate medical courses, will now be rolled out from 2013. This was indicated by the Union health ministry in a meeting with the Medical Council of India on Friday.

However, the final clearance will come in a week’s time after Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad gives the MCI the green signal to formulate the notification. The test was scheduled to be held on May 13, 2012.

A ministry source told TOI the syllabus for the 2013 entrance test has already been prepared and put on the website of the MCI for students to switch over to the new system and get fully acquainted with the syllabus. The source said “some states wanted more time before the National Eligibility cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is rolled out.

We have therefore decided to roll it out for both under graduate and post graduate medical exams from 2013. The MCI has been informally told in the meeting on Friday. A formal communication will be sent next week.”

Among the states that was against the introduction of NEET in 2012 included West Bengal Maharashtra, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa had showed readiness to join NEET from 2013-14 but AP sought exemption for two years, saying it would join from 2014-15. NEET will be held for MBBS and MD courses offered by all 271 medical colleges, 138 govt-run and 133 under private management.

  10. for neet support

because we have power of money.

  11. @ sirikant kon kon se medical exam government medical college ke liye hai …
Like bvp , amu , Ipu , FMC , cmc vellor . Cmc ludhiyana , manipal , mp dmat etc

  12. The facts are very clear. There is no language problem, no shortage of time, no problem in syllabus in PVT medical colleges. These were the agenda for the people who were opposing NEET. Such problems were faced by only Maharashtra, karnatka, AP, and TN. Most of the Pvt medical colleges are run by prominent politicians of these states backed by dalal (so called education consultant). So many SMS are being received for confirmed admission in BVP, Dy Patil, amupdmc, sumandeep, HIHT, KLE, mpdmat etc after 16 Dec. Rates for MBBS admission are very high this year. Consultants are informing that health ministry has been paid very high for deferment of NEET. I have seen the episode of NEET is being repeated last year too . Dalal quotes high rates stipulating that this is the last chance for Munnabhai. Great harassment to meritorious students but an opportunity for Munnbhais. Keep it up Azad Saheb! Aapka Jabab nahi. Isiliye to CBI lokpal ke dayare mein nahi aani chahiye. Does not matter, now next scamsters will be secretaries in Health ministry alnng with ministers.

    1. HA HA HA
YOU MAKE ME LAUGH DUDE …. ANYHOW WE HAVE DONE ENOUGH DISCUSSION ON NEET ….. I WON’T BE COMMENTING ON THAT BUT U SAID SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG DUDE…….

Isiliye to CBI lokpal ke dayare mein nahi aani chahiye.
AGAR CBI LOKPAL KE DAIRE MEIN NAHI AYI NA TOH JO CORRUPTION CBI MEIN HAI WOH TAK NAHI MITEGE … TILL NOW CENTRAL GOVT. ( NDA OR UPA ) HAS BEEN USING CBI AS PUPPETS FOR THEIR OWN USE ……..
ATLEAST WITH CBI UNDER LOKPAL WE CAN QUESSION THEIR DECISIONS ………….

  13. hello srikanth
isn’t both mci and cbse wanting to postpone the exams . mci in an interview said that aipmt will not take place this year. notification of different exams have been coming.
what chance does neet stand ??????????
