Animation Industry Should Improve: President of India

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil was addressing in an inauguration function of DSK Supinfocom, an animation training school. She expressed concern that the Animation industry needs to improve, there is a need for skilled man force in Animation industry. We are relying on US, Europe and other western countries in large and that needs to be stopped she stated.

She said, “The global animation and gaming industry grew at 12% per annum between 2005 and 2009. It was estimated to be a $115-billion industry two years ago and is expected to grow at a rate of 10% per cent till 2013 to become a $170-billion industry. Animation companies in India largely draw their revenue from outsourced projects like films and video games, while there is also a growing scope for industrial designing.”(via)
