The All India Management Association which conducts nation wide Management Aptitude Test (MAT 4 times a year) was all praise for MAT as compared to the AICTE’s newly proposed online only Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT). AIMA officials reportedly have written to MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) indicating the role played by MAT in selecting the business school aspirants.
The letter also spoke MAT has wider reach as compared to CMAT, as MAT is conducted in both online and offline mode whereas CMAT is only a online entrance test. The main convincing factor is the presence of MAT which has over a 20 year history and is widely known. CMAT will be introduced in 2012; and is mandated by AICTE for selecting students for MBA & PGDM Courses. Several business schools are opposing AICTE’s view and now it is almost looking like AIMA too is against to it.
