CTET 2012 Test Format & FAQs


Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher; CTET is conducted by CBSE according to the syllabus framed by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The candidates securing a minimum of 60% marks in CTET will be issued CTET certificate. Government schools, local bodies and other government aided or unaided schools may consider giving concessions for SC / ST / OBC / PH candidates.

CTET test format

CTET will have multiple choice questions, each question carries 1 mark and there will be 4 answers to choose for each question. There is no negative marking for both the papers.

(Tip: Ensure you answer all the questions even if you don’t know the right answer for certain questions since there is no negative marking you will be benefited if your guess is correct.)

    Secondly ,sir i am good in maths and science as i m 12th with PCM.Can i appear in ctet paper 2 with Maths and science inplace of social studies.
