It was not many months since AICTE had said ‘No’ to new part time mba courses to be offered by the Management Institutes across the country; AICTE had realized that it should approve part time courses for the benefit of education seekers who will not find time to manage full time education said a report. AICTE is the apex body and regulates technical and management education in India.
Earlier AICTE ruled out correspondence or distance courses for technical and management courses stating these courses require class room participation and can’t be taken as correspondence or through distance mode. Similarly AICTE drew line on part time courses and said new Institutes will not be entertained to offer part time courses; as a sigh of relief it is been waived off now. However according to the new regulation marked by AICTE; only ‘Working Professionals’ or ‘Professionals’ with at least two years of work experience are eligible to join part time courses.
