UP Gets Rs. 537 Crores for Uplifting Education

Under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, the Ministry of Human Resource Development has approved the Annual Plan Proposal of Uttar Pradesh (2011-2012) with a total outlay of RS.537 Crores.

The details of  the approved components are:

449 New Schools to be set up with a total outlay of  Rs.26095.88 lakh

Strengthening of 233 existing secondary schools which includes building additional classrooms, laboratory, Library, Laboratory Equipment, water facility and toilet block for Rs.6413.25 lakh

Salary for the Staff for 572 New Schools sanctioned in the years 2009 & 2010 which includes 572 Headmasters and 4004 teaching and Non-teaching staff  to the tune of Rs.19957.08 lakh

School Grant for 1135 government schoolswith an outlay of Rs. 567.5 lakhs

Repair of existing 402 government schoolswith a provision of Rs.100.5 lakhs

Capacity Building of existing teachers, principals and new teachers which includes Induction Training of 2288 teachers of 318 schools approved in 2010-11, Inservice Training of 26258 Mathematics, Science, Social Science and English teachers and Leadership Training of 600 principals has been approved with an earmarked amount of  Rs.462.96 lakh

Guidance and Counselling Services for students with a provision of Rs. 7.82 lakh

Training of  18160 School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) Members has been approved at an amount of Rs.108.96 lakh
