MICA Will Use CAT and then MICAT

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) will use CAT score for shortlisting applicants and will also ask them to take MICAT, the Institute’s own entrance test after screening applicants based on their CAT scores.¬†MICA’s Post-graduate Programme Diploma in Management (Communications) PGDM (C) is the flagship course offered by the Ahmedabad based Business School.

Application process for this flagship course will commence soon in this month. A bachelors degree with a minimum of 50% is required to be eligible to apply for this course.

The selection process for PGDM (C) involves 3 steps:

  1. CAT
  2. MICAT
  3. GD & PI

Admissions for the next academic year 2012 to 2013 will have this new rule in place. MICA too has joined the elite list of business schools which require CAT score. IIM’s, IIT’s, FMS are the premier business schools which use CAT as a written test criteria. Earlier we had reported about CAT replacing JMET for MBA admissions in IIT, similarly FMS too is stressing for CAT this year.

CAT is becoming ‘THE’ test for all tier 1 business schools sooner or later more business schools might join the elite list. XLRI’s & Symbiosis as of now use their own entrance tests XAT and SNAP. Can we expect these business schools also to accept CAT score?
