Increase Medical Seats-AP Govt. to MCI

The state government of Andhra Pradesh has asked the Medical Council of India (MCI) to increase the intake for medical college admissions for the next academic year. Currently Andhra Pradesh has about 37 medical colleges with 4800 MBBS seats, the new proposal for Andhra Pradesh government is expected to add 1200 more seats in the state.

MCI will be conducting inspection before the approval of seats will be made, it is expected that 500 seats will be added to the 10 government medical colleges while 700 seats are for the private medical colleges including the new medical colleges sources added. Colleges are doing everything that is required to get the approval accordingly state government has sent a request to MCI to conduct verification.

MCI is expected to send inspection teams by October 2011 and new seats might be approved in the month of March 2012.

  1. There is no governance left in AP, Every day bandhs and strikes have become common. Students are the most effected lot.
    We have CM who never cares for students (Unlike YRS ) and corrupt and ineffiecient minister like D.L.Ravindra Reddy who went to Delhi to get 500 MBBS seats for the current year and came back empty handed with one college closed.
    Only God should save the students in AP
