$35 Indian Tablet Finally Hitting on Oct 5


Thanks to the efforts of Mr.Kapil Sibal, the hon’ble HRD Minister. His dream of launching an Indian Tablet with a price tag of $35 (INR1700) has come true and India is all set to witness this man’s dream on October 5, 2011 according to sources.

Earlier Mr. Sibal has announced Indian touchscreen tablet computer, Sakshat which will be co-developed with private partnership. It may be available to students more than a year later for INR1700  (US$35). “This is our answer to MIT’s US$100 computer,” said Sibal. Speaking at an award ceremony held by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Sibal said the tablet would be launched by October and will help School children go beyond the boundary of classroom and teachers to acquire knowledge through Information Technology.
