Girls Exempted from IITJEE 2012 Application Fee

To increase greater diversity by encouraging girl students participation in Indian Institutes of Technology, the application fee for JEE is exempted from 2012 for girls. However, the application fee for boys would be hiked by Rs. 800/- from the current Rs 1,000/-. Which means boys will have to pay Rs. 1800/- for the application fee for the prestigious Joint Entrance Examination conducted by IITs.

Carry home your OMR Sheet

With the Right to Information act being stressed repeatedly by the supreme court, applicants of IITJEE-2012 will be able to take home a copy of the OMR (optic response sheet). The OMR copy will have the responses marked by the applicant, which will enable him to tally with the answer keys once the key is released.

Mark your response with a pen

Other change announced is about the use of pen for marking responses on the OMR sheet.

  1. are SibbaL APKO CHHOT DENI THI TO APNI JEB SE DETE . KYA APNE LADKON KI RAY LI.ACCHHA TO YEH HAE KI TUM 800 RP ME 700 APNI JEB SE DO /

  2. it is a good step to encourage girls in engg. but it is the step which is not in the fever of boys. why they pay for this???????????

  3. the application fee for boys should nt be increasd……fee should be equal…or nt be incrsd,, .damn yar ,,,1800..too dificult for some studnts…

  4. WOW, and we’re supposed to believe this would actually avail girl students better education? A girl confident of writing the exam would get the application right away. It is the college fees they should really be worried about. How could anyone but into this petty politics? This is just a market ploy for them to make more money (since there is more male aspirants that female ones and the price hike would more than make up for the loss in money)

  5. this is really wonderful all girl students will really feel great for this wonderful opportunity.I whole-heartedly support government for this.

  6. we r the people of the largest democratic system. Where,we are started to talk about the same right to girl and boy child in every walk of life then why this type of discrimination is made by govt.between M/F students

    1. Giving Free Applications for Girl Aspirants is good But the Application Fee For Boys Should Not be Increased. Because many of the students from Poor Families are appearing for the Exam.

      1. You are absolutely right Mr Ram. It is something which is against democracy. Ok, exam fees for girl students may be waived, but at the same time this should not be increased in case of boys too in any circumstances. This, I think, is a cruel decision on the part of the poor parents who still live from hand to mouth or do not have the affordability, but are blessed with a talented/intelligent son. I solemnly appeal to the Govt to review this decision so that the equal justice is maintained and the sanctity of the democracy is given due regard to.

        1. I am appeal & request to the authority to waive off the IIT JEE entrance exam fees for the backward class students & reduce the fees to the other students.
          Thanking you.
