AICTE to Create Student Database to Enable Industry Interaction

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is in the process of creating student database (final year) studying in various technical institutions in India. Management, Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy etc students are also under this initiative. The database is designed in order to integrate with the industry database, which will help students with job opportunities.

Reportedly the database will have a common format for a student curriculum vitae (CV) and the students will be able to mark his preferred industry. An employer from the industry can select students for shortlisting by using this database.

With increased competition among students to secure jobs, the move from AICTE will benefit thousands of students. Job opportunities exist in India but are not exposed in a way that reaches the student.

What is your opinion..?
