GRE Test is Getting Revised from August 1 2011

Educational Testing Service ETS has called for a change in the GRE format, the new format will come in effect from August 2011. As cited on the ETS website ” Starting August 1, 2011, the GRE® revised General Test will replace the current GRE General Test, giving you the advantage of a better test experience — and new types of questions that help show your readiness for graduate-level work”.

In a nut shell the new GRE format will have :

  1. Friendly design: Lets test takers to edit or change answers, skip questions within a section . Add on new feature is an on-screen calculator.
  2. New types of questions: In the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections new questions featuring real-life scenarios, to test the ability of test takers thinking in today’s business scenario. Antonyms and analogies will be removed from the test, so there are no questions that test vocabulary out of context. Learn More Here

In addition there will be a special discount of 50% for test takers between August 1 and September 30, 2011.

March 15: Registration opens for the GRE revised General Test

August 1: First day of testing for the GRE revised General Test

August 1 – September 30: Special discount of 50%, Your scores will be sent by mid-November
