Category wise NEET UG cutoffs for 15% all India quota seats

The NEET UG 2013 in it’s first avatar has given more confusion to medical & dental prospects. Firstly when MCI announced NEET UG replacing all state level medical PMTs, there was objection from several state governments. Students were at large in a state of confusion whether to prepare for the CBSE prescribed NEET UG syllabus or continue preparing for the state level PMT. Despite several challanges faced by MCI & CBSE, the maiden CBSE was concluded on 05 May 2013 except in Karnataka (postponed due to elections).

MCI postpones NEET UG in Karnataka to 18 May 2013 due to assembly elections

According to a notification issued by MCI (Medical Council of India), the NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for MBBS / BDS admissions will be postponed to 18 May 2013 only in the State of Karnataka due to Elections. Candidates appearing for the maiden NEET UG in 2013 are hereby requested to make a note of the change.

As announced the maiden NEET UG will take place on 05 May 2013 in all other states & union territories. The NEET UG 2013 will be an objective based test with 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. The test will be for a duration of THREE hours, 45 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology sections will be seen in NEET UG 2013.

NEET UG 2013 admit cards can be downloaded from 10 April 2013

The admit cards for maiden NEET UG 2013 can be downloaded from the official website from 10 April 2013 onwards. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct NEET UG on 05 May 2013, NEET UG is an eligibility test for both MBBS & BDS courses. It is a common medical entrance test for all colleges instead of state level CETs.

The NEET UG entrance examination consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Blue/Black Ball Point Pen. Each correct answer will get 04 marks and for each incorrect response, 01 mark will be deducted from the total score. The duration of the test is three hours to be held between 10.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m on 05 May 2013. There is no limit for number of attempts, students can reappear for NEET UG in the subsequent years.

Edit option enabled for NEET UG 2013 application form

The maiden NEET UG which is scheduled for 05 May 2013 has been in news for a couple of years, NEET UG drew controversies with respect to variation in syllabus and timing. The application forms for the maiden NEET UG are to be filled only ONLINE, candidates who have committed mistakes can edit the forms to make changes.

Changes not allowed are

  • Changes in choice of Examination Centre is not allowed.
  • Changes in Question Paper Medium is not allowed.
  • Changes in Choice of Seats is not allowed.
  • Changes in State to which applicant belong and Nationality is not allowed.

Status of Scrutiny of Applications will be Displayed on website from 15.02.2013 onwards. The last date to edit the NEET UG application forms will be 28 February 2013.

NEET UG 2013 application deadline is 31 Dec 2012 without late fee

The last date for filling the application forms for NEET UG Fois 31 December 2012, however the deadline for filling the application form with late fee of Rs 1000 extra is 31 Jan 2013. Candidates must note that NEET UG is a national level medical entrance exam to be conducted by CBSE on 05 May 2013. The application forms are available only ONLINE on the website http://cbseneet.nic.in/.

Correction procedure for NEET UG 2013 application form

Candidates who have made mistakes in the application form must visit the official website during 01 Feb to 28 Feb 2013 and follow the correction procedure to edit incorrect entries. However correction in city of centre / choice of seats / questions paper medium / category / nationality are not allowed.

Edit option for NEET UG 2013 application forms from 01 Feb

The edit option for the NEET UG 2013 application forms will be enabled from 01 February 2013, the one time edit option will be enabled till 28 February 2013. Candidates who have committed mistakes while filling the online application form can make changes, however correction in city of centre / choice of seats / questions paper medium / category / nationality are not allowed.

Candidates must take a print out of the corrected application form and retain with them for reference in the future. The confirmation page received status can be checked online at http://cbseneet.nic.in/ from 15 January 2013.

NEET UG 2013 is a first of its kind common medical entrance test to be conducted on 05 May 2013, the question paper will be objective based with 180 questions.

No NEET UG in Tamil Nadu, MBBS & BDS Admissions through Class 12 Marks

The government of Tamil Nadu is clear on it’s stance, the state will not abolish it’s old system. Tamil Nadu uses only class 12 marks as admission eligibility for MBBS & BDS courses, there is no CET. For the year 2013 too there will not be any change reports Times of India. Though NEET UG is announced as a single entrance exam for all private and government medical college admissions, Tamil Nadu is sailing the other way.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has however not granted any exemption to any state, students of Tamil Nadu must ensure to apply for NEET UG to be held on 05 May 2013 to be on the safer side. The application forms for NEET UG 2013 are available online, the last date for submitting the completed application form without late fee is 31-12-2012.

NEET UG 2013 will be held in 83 Cities across India and in 2 Cities Abroad

The first ever National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate Medical courses (MBBS & BDS) will be held on 05 May 2013. All Medical Colleges under the ambit of MCI will come under NEET UG, the NEET PG a postgraduate medical entrance test was held during 23.11.2012 to 06.12.2012 ONLINE at 33 cities across the country. The NEET UG however will be an offline test to be conducted by CBSE.

NEET UG 2013 will be held in 83 cities in India and 2 cities abroad as multiple choice questions based test. The information related to NEET UG 2013 has been confirmed by Minister for Health & Family Welfare Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad in Loksabha today.

NEET UG 2013 to have 180 questions to be answered in 3 hours

The NEET UG 2013 will be an objective based test with 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. The test will be for a duration of THREE hours, 45 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology sections will be seen in NEET UG 2013. All the Medical & Dental Colleges across India will use the score of NEET UG 2013, JIPMER & AIIMS New Delhi will have their own entrance exam. Medical aspirants must prepare for three main Medical Entrance Exams, one being NEET UG 2013 and the other two are JIPMER MBBS Entrance Test & AIIMS Medical Entrance Exam.

The application forms for NEET UG 2013 are available only at the official website of NEET. Candidates must visit http://cbseneet.nic.in/ and follow the instructions to successfully fill the ONLINE application form. The last date for filling the form ONLINE without late fee is 31 December 2012. After filling the online application form, candidates must post the confirmation page to CBSE latest by 10 January 2013.

The results are expected to be announced on first week of June 2013, for the benefit of students CBSE has mentioned the list of facilitation centres.
