Quiet strange how a reputed B-School failed to protect data from Google

Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies – KIAMS has campuses in Harihar & Pune. While searching about the PGDM specializations the Institute is offering something strange and unusual has happened. The applicant details of the 2014-16 batch (atleast some of them) are indexed by Google and shown in the search results.

kiams

For the search query “kiams pgdm specializations” the above results have been displayed by Google, on clicking those results the applicants registration data is available for public display. One of them as below:

kiams_data

We strongly urge the management of KIAMS and the web admin to take this issue and block certain URL’s being indexed by the search engines. The web admin can also request Google to remove the URLs which are indexed to protect privacy of the registrants.

  38. Rithi Pathak says:

I think these file should be uploaded privately Because B Schools uploaded the file in public folder so they indexed fast on google .

    • Srikanth says:

Yes, that is quiet strange how they can do this. There is personal information like email ids & mobile numbers of the applicants, it should be handled carefully. I hope they will wake up.

      • Linda Mary says:

Ya Totaly agree with you @srikanth they sholud be careful about it because its private data over there some one can miss use of Female cell number & also email ids. as yous said hope to fix problem soon as possible.
