Take your board exams seriously, IITs & NITs have done away with the old selection process which had a minimum eligibility percentage in board exams plus merit in IITJEE & AIEEE respectively. If you are among those aspirants putting all your efforts to ace new JEE, make sure to have theoretical knowledge and be strong on your subject especially in Maths, Physics & Chemistry.
Say tata bye bye to the short cut formulae trained by your coaching Institutes they may not come handy any more, the best way is to learn the entire method of solving the problem and improvise the speed. They might have told you if you memorize this short cut formula you can solve xyz problem in 30 seconds but what one should understand is that if you practice thoroughly the same problem can be solved in straight forward method also under 30 seconds.
Avoiding short cut formulae will also help you with board exams, where in the papers are not objective the entire method will be evaluated instead of just the answer. Your preparation for the new JEE should be ON and having depth in subjects will surely be a plus, not to forget that one needs to be among the Top 20 percentile of students in board examination to be able to find a birth in JEE Advanced.
