Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) is a Scheme for the undergraduate Courses in Engineering in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), IIITs and other premier Technical Institutions in India for foreign nationals / persons of Indian origin (PIOs)/ non-resident Indians (NRIs). Admissions through DASA Scheme for the academic year 2012-2013 will begin with the launch of online application forms on April 01, 2012.
Seat allotment will be based on SAT subject test scores and the choices given by the candidate, in the order of their merit and priority taken together. Detailed information is provided in DASA 2012 Brochure.
The application process involves three steps 1) Creating an account 2) Filling the application form and 3) Sending the form. The list of participating Institutes are provided in the brochure.
The residential requirement for DASA 2012-13 is relaxed from 3 years to 2 years for NRI candidates with a additional condition that candidate must pass the qualifying examination (inclusive of 11th and 12th standard or equivalent) from abroad only for the DASA 2012-13 admissions.
