AFMC Entrance Test To Get Merged With NEET UG From 2013

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Entrance Test for MBBS admissions will get merged with NEET UG from 2013. (via) The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Under Graduate (NEET UG) courses is a nation wide medical entrance exam that is set to replace state level medical entrance tests and national level medical entrance tests from 2013.

NEET UG will be the only entrance test for MBBS and BDS courses from 2013, JIPMER and AIIMS MBBS Test may still exist as these bodies are independent and MCI will not object them.

NEET UG was initially planned to be held on 13 May 2012, CBSE & MCI faced several objections with respect to syllabus and language choice of the test from different states. NEET UG has been put-off to 2013; the syllabus for NEET UG can be accessed from MCI website.

Though AFMC accepts scores of NEET UG but the Institute will have it’s own selection criteria for evaluating students; only those students who opt for AFMC Pune in NEET UG application form will be interviewed.
