  1. pleasa give us a correct information about neet or eamcet. if atall neet is conform what about the students of ap, second year students have no change in there syllabus and how can apper this exam. is this the real competion.

  2. neet shud be conducted in 2012 itself..it’ll be very useful for the mbbs aspirants.bt mci must make a quick decision..its already late now..

  3. The Education Minister of West Bengal Mr. Bratya Basu declared that West Bengal Joint Entrance Board will take the WBJEE Medical 2012. In this matter the Chief Minister Of West Bengal Miss. Mamata Banerjee sent a letter to Central Govt. This news has been published in all the Bengali Channels.

  4. i think neet portion of chemistry must be decreased.and negative marking must not be there andall state coleeges including the taminal nadu gujarat karnataka must also come under neet. each and every college of india should come under neet

    • Neet should be conducted but mci must announce the notification immediately at any cost neet should be conducted in 2012

  5. Admission notice for MBBS in 2012 for unaided (Pvt) medical colleges in UP has come today in delhi edition of times of India. Date of exam 30 May 2012. Does it mean no neet for Pvt medical colleges ??

  6. neet should not take place from 2012 as the syllabus and pattern for the same has yet not been released and it’s mid of oct. already, therefore students w ill not get ample time to understand it.

  7. Hello Pals,
Some news to cheer for NEET supporters. The Dental Council of India has announced that it would be part of NEET from 2012. Pl check this link:-
    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/Common-entrance-test-for-medical-dental-admissions/articleshow/10359643.cms

Another news is that State of Gujarat as decided to join NEET from 2012 subject to Gujrati is included as language option. This is a major shift considering that Gujarat has been opposing NEET from the beginning.
    Cheers Guys….!!!!!!

  8. NEET UG&PG happen or not happen is a big issue but MCI should atleast notify about exams.MCI is not responding in any way and students have been kept in dark till now i.e. mid october .
If this is the policy of MCI , I am afraid NEET will come out with good for students.

  9. Hai kishna kumar
In Delhi PMT too, a big scam happened this year it came in to light this time but we dont know how long it was happening. now CBI started investigating. I personaly feel in all PMT test some thing going wrong thats what these people not able to digest NEET & opposing.
we pray to god pls bring neet from this year itself other wise this is unjustice with capable student

  10. Hi Guys,
The medical admission scam in Karnataka is assuming wider ramifications, pl see this report in Deccan Chronicle
    http://www.deccanchronicle.com/node/63331

As many as 120 Munna Bhais have got themselves admitted by paying huge sums. I still feel ‘Its the tip of ICEBERG’, if CBI is pressed into investigation, perhaps more scams would be unearthed. In the preliminary investigation itself, it has been found that 120 Genuine Candidates have lost their hard earned seats. I wonder how many such scams are happening in different State CETs. Its a big shame to our country.
Central Govt, MCI & State Govts should combine and bring about absolutely transparent admission system through NEET from 2012 itself and save millions of lives in our country.

  11. HELLO EVERYONE
GUYS IT’S ALREADY MID OCTOBER. HOW MUCH MORE DOES MCI WISH US TO WAIT.
EARLIER THIS YEAR MCI HAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL BE CONDUCTING NEET – PG , BUT NOW I HEAR THAT SOME COLLEGES HAVE DECLARED THEIR EXAMS FOR PG COURSES. I GUESS NEET – UG WILL MEET THE SAME FATE . THOUGH SOME STATES HAVE STARTED SUPPORTING NEET THEIR IS STILL NO SUPPORT FROM GUJARAT, TAMIL NADU, KARANATAKA, ASSAM AND FEW OTHERS.
I WOULD SUGGEST THAT INSTEAD OF WASTING TIME WE START PREPARING OUR 11 AND 12 SYLLABUS FROM NCERT.

  12. Dear friends,

I am frustated & feel this NEET-UG will never be allowed to happen in our country like India in 2012 or 2013, where there is no shortage of brain power.
I dont hope a medical seat in my state CET exam if old system is allowed to continue.
SEE THE VALUES OF SUPREME COURT ORDER & MCI`s DECISION !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who bothers about our future yarr if your parents dont have Money & links with high profile individuals? who are going to be the back born of our country in the comming years.
see what is happening with the great Anna Hazzare!!!!!!,He warned again for his second fasting for Lokpal Bill.

    Jai Hind

    • Hello Das,
I can see frustration welling up inside you. Trust me there are 95% chance that NEET will be held in 2012. Several States have expressed their acceptance and already States like Andhra Pradesh, Orissa ,West Bengal have announced acceptance for NEET in 2012. MCI is in the process of clinching the other few States.
So dont worry about the opposition, be positive and clear about your goals.
      take care
      Bi

      • hey mr.ramesh wer exactly u ‘ve seen that andhra pradesh has complEtely accepted to go with NEET 2012? i’ll be glad if u post me the site address.coz the col i study says ther is no such thing this year.

  13. com on mci u hav tried for a good thing nd it wil benefit student bt a sample paper cu book relesed by u will help in increasing the confidence of particepent

  14. according to me neet-ug is revolution in medical career because it gives equal chace to student of every states.as there is vast difference of no.of seats rom state to state.

    • HELLO AKSHAY HOW CAN U SAY THAT IT IS GIVING EQUAL CHANCE WHEN THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IS ITSELF NOT EQUAL.
YES I AGREE REVOLUTION IS NEEDED BUT NOT OF THIS TYPE. NEET SHOULD BE BROUGHT ONLY AFTER MAKING THE SYLLABUS SAME WITH PRIOR WARNING OF ATLEAST 2 YEARS.

  15. WHICH WEEK ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT.THEY HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR PAST 8 WEEKS. IS THIS WEEK GONNA COME THIS YEAR ,NEXT OR NEXT TO NEXT.

State to move SC on medical CET Sep 29, 2011, 06.15AM IST TNN [ Sanjeev Shivadekar ] MUMBAI: Maharashtra is up in arms against the
Centre’s move to introduce a common examination
for the country’s medical colleges next year. The
state education department has decided to
challenge the decision in the Supreme Court. Maharashtra is not alone in opposing the National
      Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET). Gujarat and
Tamil Nadu, too, are against an umbrella selection
procedure for MBBS seats. Medical education minister Dr Vijaykumar Gavit said:
“We are not against the NEET per se. Our demand is
that the Union government should start conducting
the test two years after framing a common
curriculum for physics, biology and chemistry for
standards XI and XII. But the Centre is keen on going ahead with its plans to hold NEET for the
      2012-13 session. Therefore Maharashtra has
decided to oppose it. “About filing a case in the SC, I am discussing it over
with chief minister Prithviraj Chavan.” At present, the state holds the Maharashtra Health
and Technology Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET)
for admissions in medical, engineering and
pharmacy undergraduate courses. An education department official said the Medical
Council of India (MCI) should go slow on
administering NEET. “The MCI has uploaded the
core syllabus for NEET on its website. Going
through it, students in Maharashtra have become
concerned about differences with the syllabus prescribed in the state.

      • Hey Sam, you dirty swine, are u not aware that Supreme Court was the one who ordered NEET first. Then MCI developed it and it was later approved by Central Govt incl Ministry of Health.
You stupid fellow, this issue was already discussed by Supreme Court will all the State representatives. MCI had impleaded all the States in this issue and after Supreme court had heard from all the States only NEET was ordered.
You idiot, understand that this is all Drama enacted by the State to make stupid fellow like you to believe that the Govt is innocent. Go & ask any sane. learned and erudite Person who will clarify your ignorance.
Filing case in supreme court against supreme court verdict is a useless exercise and an EYE WASH. You better understand

        • Moreover, Maharashtra is ruled by congress govt headed by Prithviraj Chavan. How he will fight Congress Govt in the Centre??? These are all political games, which will not reach your thick skull and mosquito brain.
You wait & see, all this will fizzle out and NEET will become a reality in 2012. At that time, I will have a hearty laugh and you will be licking your wounds. :-) :-) :-)

  16. thankyou very much gazala.and if u have any more information abt this at any time than plz inform thanxx very much dear.

  17. hi frnds.i am a dropper.and is supposed to give next year so called neet ug.will anyone plz tell me one thing?at the admist of all this going on ,what about private medical colleges.since the supposed merit kists will be on the basis of domicile in city like delhi we dont have any private medical coollg plz someone tell me

  18. One more thing I must tell to every reader of this blog that thoug here it is posed that final decision will be taken in a week by mci but in a newspaper of 24th sept it was said that the decision will be taken in THREE WEEKS…so which news will we grant…

    • Hi Razibul,
I agree, its quite unfortunate, but that’s the way the Govt works in our country. We need to have patience.

  19. Every time we hear news that mci will take a final decision in few days,in a week or very soon or etc etc…we have been bored and choked of such comment…actually what I want to mean that this time also mci will not break its strategy of lethargy..though they might have told that the final decision will be taken in a week but you will see that it will never be done and moreover they will take two or more weeks..you believe me or not, that doesn’t matter anything to me..but you wait for 3 days more and see if it happens so or not….

  20. My dear friend Kumar thanks a lot for your information.May God bless you.Your message provided a lot to me during my need.Any way thank you so much.

  21. 80% students of West Bengal is from Bengali medium. Since 18 months they have been preparing for state entrance test which is in Bengali and based on West Bengal +2 syllabus. Now MCI has started to playing with state board students by giving them only 7 months to prepare the NEET syllabus which is different from state board syllabus. If NEET is not postponed then a lot of undeserving students from CBSE board will get advantage over the deserving students of state boards.

    • Neet is will be in 2012 pls read this news from times ofindia

BHUBANESWAR: Medical students preparing for Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) need to re-plan their schedule, as the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), tentatively scheduled for May 13, will replace OJEE for admission into undergraduate medical courses in the state in 2012.

“I can now confirm that there will be no entrance at the state level for undergraduate medical courses next time. Students will be drawn from the NEET merit list for all medical colleges,” said Dr Sitaram Mahapatra, joint director of medical education and training. For other professional courses such as engineering, MBA and MCA, the OJEE will continue as it stands, he said.

Dr Mahapatra, who represented Orissa at a meeting to finalise NEET at New Delhi on September 23, said NEET will draw separate merit lists for each state from among the state domiciles, keeping in mind various reservations for 85% seats in medical colleges. For the rest 15% seats and Union government colleges, which are filled up from the all-India quota, an all-India merit list will be drawn.

OJEE authorities will conduct counseling for the 85% seats from among the state merit list, while a centralized counselling will be drawn for the 15% seats from the all-India merit list in New Delhi.

Dr Mahapatra, who is also the OJEE vice-chairman, said the Indian Medical Council and Central Board of Secondary Education will work on a percentile system to ensure that each state merit list comprises sufficient students from their respective domicile to fill up their seats. “It was our biggest concern because we thought enough students from our state may not qualify the all-India test,” Dr Mahapatra said.

MCI will also work on a uniform syllabus and model question papers for the test. NEET will have 180 questions, comprising 45 each from physics, chemistry, botany and zoology. The test will be of 180 minutes duration with centres in all district headquarters, Dr Mahapatra said.

Applications, both online and offline, for NEET will tentatively start in the second week of December and will continue till second week of January. Students would receive their admit cards by second week of April. After the test on May 13, results will be published in June 2012, the OJEE vice-chairman said.

Dr Mahapatra said the state government has requested the Central government to make it mandatory for students of other states, who will take admission for the 15% seats, to give an undertaking that they will serve in rural areas of the state for two years. There is already such a system for students of state domicile.

        • Hey krisna
thanks u noticed question will be less than AIPMT I mean in neet total question -180 in 3hrs cheers.

dont comment likethis on sam as he is also like u he wants things as per his own way as u want neet he dont want that for his own reason we should understand everybody problem even that nothing is in our hand

          • Yes kumar, I noticed the no of questions and I am happy about it. Also the weightage for biology has increased to 50% which is a good indication.
Regarding SAM, I do not have any personal grouse against him. Its all for the benefit of PRO NEET students. Sam should understand that he should not invite the wrath from guys like me by writing rubbish in this column. Irrelevant postings simply wastes everybody’s time here, this should be totally stopped. A healthy argument is always welcome, as long as there is valid substance/stuff. Out of context stuff would certainly irritate all readers in this forum.

    • Hi Sabbir,
As far as vernacular language is concerned, I agree with you. But I dont agree with your views about shortage of time. 7 months is a hell lot of time to prepare. The NEET syllabus was set by NCERT and not CBSE. SO, dont accuse CBSE. All these years CBSE guys use to struggle with tough syllabus whereas you guys use to have State Board syllabus which was less cumbersome. Having enjoyed all these years, can you accuse CBSE guys as ‘undeserving’?? Even CBSE guys have to write the NEET to qualify. If you have guts you can challenge them in the NEET, rather than accusing them, which is unfair.
The NEET syllabus is a common core syllabus and not copy book of CBSE. The syllabus was not a major issue considering the feedbacks of only 1970 recd by MCI against its proposed syllabus.

Only your language aspect is a valid grudge, which many of us feel should be given as a option in the test. However, several persons feel that the students should have English language skills before taking MBBS. If they are unable to answer MCQs in English, how they will follow classes in MBBS which is in English medium???
      Questions to ponder. huh…!!!!

  22. Hey rani,
Shreya if right. If you are unable to distinguish between a normal and a nut like sam, then I feel you should also join sam in going to the mental asylum.
Posting irrelevant news in this forum is undesirable.Let us only share the appropriate info about the forthcoming NEET.

  23. NEET will be definitely there(MAY 2012).
Why they will bother about regional languages because if we take this under consideration, still there a lot of languages.
So why one have to follow the upcoming professional course with English(So face it because no option left).
And lastly about Hindi this the only Indian language chosen as medium of question paper(BECAUSE HINDI IS OUR NATIONAL LANGUAGE).

  24. We welcome NEET UG ! Finally , difficulties related to n number of exams will vanish ! But sample papers before the exam would benefit students

  25. 80 PERCENT STUDENT OF OUR WEST BENGAL BOARD COME FROM BENGALI MEDIUM.SO IT IS MUCH DIFFICULT TO COMPLETE THE SYALLABUS WITHIN 5 OR 6 MONTHS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE(NOT OUR MOTHER LANGUAGE).BUT ALL THE STUDENTS WHOSE MOTHER TONGUE IS HINDI WILL TAKE FULL BENEFITS OF NEET 2012..SO I APPEAL TO MCI PLEASE SOLVE THIS PROBLEM SOON..

  26. SC rejects CBSE’s plea
    for combined AIPMT and
    AIEEE exam Sep 24, 2011,
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday shelved
an ambitious student-friendly initiative from the
HRD ministry through the Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE) proposing to integrate
    the
AIPMT and AIEEE into a single entrance test for
admissions to undergraduate medical and engineering courses. While the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance

Examination (AIPMT) is conducted to fill 15% seats
in MBBS/BDS courses in government medical and
dental colleges against the all-India quota, the All
India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is
for drawing up a combined merit list for a different category of engineering colleges. CBSE conducts
both AIPMT and AIEEE every year. A bench of Justices R V Raveendran and A K
Patnaik, which entertained the CBSE’s proposal and
had sought the views of the health ministry for
nearly a year, dismissed the education regulator’s
plea saying there was no unanimity. When CBSE counsel requested for some more time
to iron out the differences with other stakeholders,
the bench said that unanimity and a solution had to
be found within the government and the court was
not the forum. The bench had earlier appreciated the noble
intentions behind the move, that is to relieve the
students from appearing in multiple entrance
examinations, but the health ministry had said a
common test for medical and engineering courses
would create confusion and chaos in the merit list. The CBSE had said that amalgamation of AIPMT and
AIEEE would relieve students and their parents of a
lot of stress both physical and financial. The CBSE in its application had said that its
governing body meeting had several times
recorded that “members of the committee had
desired that both the AIPMT and AIEEE, which are
conducted by CBSE, may be integrated keeping in
view the interest of the candidates to enable them to get admission in medical/dental and engineering
through a single entrance examination”. Consequent to the recommendation of the
governing body, a meeting of officials of HRD,
Medical Council of India and Directorate General of
Health Services, National Institute of Technology,
Kurukshetra, and CBSE was held on June 7, 2010.
In this meeting, it was decided to amalgamate AIPMT and AIEEE.

    • Hello Sam,
Why are you posting this repeatedly. Are you mad?? This news makes all that more confirmed that there wont be any AIPMT in 2012. It will be only NEET in 2012.
Supreme court has taken the right decision. Both these exams cannot be combined, bcoz Engineering & medical are different disciplines which requires unique requisites to qualify for the course. Though Physics and chemistry are common subjects. The topics/chapters and the quantum would differ. Hence, a combined medical test for both medical and engineering is not feasible. They have to remain separately..

  27. Neet is good as here is a national approach is being established. But to minimize the probability of corruption HRD ministry should select a mono language question paper.Because hindi is mother language of many states and they may get advantage. From this point of view other states will demand their mother language question paper. This may compel GOI to print multi language question paper , which will surely raise the probability of question-leak.So Government must opt for a specific language question paper throughout the country. As english is the only language medium for studying MBBS , hence it should be applied straight from the entrance level.

    • Piyali Ghosh,
I support your views & suggestion.
But in my opinion Question paper should only be in Hindi & English.
It is the Entrance exam for MBBS & not for lower division classes admission.
Medical aspirants should start learning either Hindi/English from high school onwards.
      Jai Hind

  28. May god kindly save us from this unprecedented situation that syllabus for NEET has not been finalised yet. It is also surprising to note that HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY has not been granted a deserving pace. It is my request to all to please appeal for inclusion of HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY with out which it will be golden back stone pot.

  29. I earnestly request the MCI OFFICIALS not to play such silly games with our VERY VERY IMP CAREER. Its a request……PL confirm whatever you all want to do within 1 to 2 weeks…Its really not a matter of joke!!!!!!!!!!!WHY you all are experimenting with us??????????????????????????????????????I am from WB BOARD. Our syllabus is quite diff from other boards at least in terms of BIO.So its just a request that we can not cope with Botany and Zoology in only 5 to 6 months…..PLEASE DON’T PLAY WITH US. HAVE SYMPATHY ON WEST BENGAL BOARD STUDENTS……..PL…..PL……….PL……….

  30. now this nerd sam will only realise when neet happen on 27 may 2012 till then he will be in dream only that there will be no neeet.I pity on this poor guy coz he will waste his one year.

  31. The speculation about NEET in 2012 has been put to rest with this report. I personally feel that the option of language should be in vernacular languages also. There are several thousands of students still doing HSC in their State’s local language. For such students taking the exam in either Hindi or English would be difficult.
But in an ideal situation, proficiency in english would be a big advantage for the student to pursue medical studies which are taught in English in all our medical schools.
When CBSE/MCI allows Hindi as a language option, the question naturally arise about inclusion of other State languages recognised in our constitution. I appeal to all the concerned officials through this forum that they should allow the language option for the benefit of several thousands of prospective medical aspirants.

As reported, MCI should also clarify about the negative marking & syllabus and should put a full stop to those uncertainties in the minds of some students.

I hail Supreme Court, Central Govt., MCI, CBSE and other concerned officials for bringing in great relief to students and parents through this NEET. Congratulations & appreciation to all those officials.

Thanks and appreciation to CAREER MITRA for covering this topic in a most impressive and informative manner. The discussions, I am sure would have thrown lot of information to the readers in this forum.

  32. The above written article reflects that NEET has been finalized in may 2012…….NOW the discussion is being done on whether it will be possible in regional languages or not……..

Though a lot of students think that they will be in loss if NEET is implemented from 2012…i think a wider section will be benefited by it….n only three states are objecting to it,the rest have agreed ….obviously the decision should go with majority ….lets wait n watch…..

  33. mci should ensure that our corrupted wb officials can’t leak the questions before the exam date. We are happy 4 neet. Print in local languages may lead to leakage in wb. So mci must be cautious.
