Couple of day’s ago we have written about IIM Indore’s new course, an integrated PG Course for students at +2 / higher secondary level or equivalent.
However we haven’t written much about the process of admission & important dates, we will elaborate the same here in this post.
The course has it’s official name as ‘Five Year Integrated Postgraduate Programme in Management (IPGP)’ . The classes are scheduled to begin in October 2011.
Eligibility criteria for 5 Year Integrated PGP
| General and NC-OBC Category | SC, ST and PWD/DA Category |
| 60% Aggregate marks in Secondary/ X Std/ Equivalent and 60% Aggregate marks in Higher Secondary / XII Std / + 2 / Equivalent(OR)SAT –1 overall score of 1600 out of 2400 | 55% Aggregate marks in Secondary / X Std / Equivalent and 55% Aggregate marks in Higher Secondary / XII Std /+2 level/ Equivalent(OR)SAT –1 overall score of 1475 out of 2400 |
Note : SAT- 1 scores obtained during January 1, 2010- August 30, 2011 is only valid
Candidates appearing for XII/ Higher Secondary or equivalent qualifying examination, those who have completed final examination requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, the candidates who are appearing for XII/ Higher Secondary or equivalent examination should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grades up to pre-final year in case of general and NC-OBC category and 55% in case of SC, ST and PWD/DA category.
Age limit
Candidate should have completed 17 years and should not be more than 19 years old by June 30, 2011.
Reservation
Government of India reservation norms would be followed while admitting the candidates.
Selection
The selection process will consist of two-stages. Eligible candidates will be called for Aptitude Test (AT) and Personal Interview (PI) based on their academic performance in Secondary or equivalent, Higher Secondary or equivalent, scholastic achievements and performance in SAT-1.
Candidates with no valid SAT-I scores are also eligible to apply if they satisfy the minimum requirements.
Final selection to the five year integrated PGP would be based on criteria, such as the candidate’s academic performance at Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent, scholastic achievements, performance in SAT –1 and performance in AT and PI.
AT and PI for shortlisted candidates will be conducted at Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Indore during September 27-29, 2011.
Note: IIM Indore reserves the right to change the criteria at its discretion.
Aptitude Test & Personal Interview
The aptitude test and personal interview would be held in various centres including Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata and Mumbai.
IIM Indore is planning to invite roughly seven times (approximately 850 candidates) of the batch size for aptitude test and personal interview.
Degree
Candidates can use the option of exiting the system with a degree equivalent to BBA programme of 3 years. Others who desire to continue would receive an MBA equivalent after 5 years. [The three years degree option has been ruled out by the HRD, it is a must for all students to take part in the five year's course.]
Fee
Fee for the programme for the first 3 years would be Rs.300,000 per annum and for next two years would be Rs.500,000 per annum. This fee is for tuition and does not include boarding and lodging. The participants should meet any international component expenses, as a part of the programme. The participants would, also meet expenses related to the field visit if any.
Hostel & Accommodation
Accommodation would be organized on the campus on a twin-sharing basis for the first 3 years. Single room accommodation would be made available for the 4th and 5th year of the programme on campus.
Term / Course
This academic programme would consist of 15 terms. Each term is for 3 months. Detailed programme design and academic curriculum will be made available by August 2011.
The broad design of the programme would include management education in social sciences setting. Accordingly, 40% of the programme would focus on subjects related to the following:
Mathematics, Statistics, Logic and Computer Science
Introduction to Literature and Political Science
Civilization in History (both national and international)
Exposure to biological sciences
Exposure to languages (one foreign language and one Indian language) – Ordinary language and exposure to Indore by field visit.
Soft skills: Leadership development, personality development, team work and communication both written and oral
Second module would consist of all functional areas of management like
Accounting, Finance, Organizational Behavior, Decision Science, Operations and Services Management, Marketing, Economics, Information Technology, Communication, Legal Aspects of Business, Ethics, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Business Strategy and International Business. This would account for 50% of the course design.
The remaining 10% of the programme would focus on international exposure and internship in various social organizations in India.

How to Apply
Candidates seeking admission to the five year Integrated PGP of IIM Indore have to submit their application so as to reach IIM Indore on or before September 6, 2011 along with a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1000 (Rupees one thousand only) (Rs 500 in case of SC and ST). Application fee is payable by DD or through RTGS/NEFT to IIM Indore as per the details given in section A (below).

The issue remains the same- 5 years from now, we’ll all be competing against CA+MBA or Engineers+MBA of their ‘popular’ flagship program in the placements. And at the time when the best B schools in the world are making experience compulsory for MBA programs, I guess IPM is lot more than just risky!

this is unique initiative by iim indore,in the coming years more iim will be coming with this integrated course`its ur personal choice to go for distant learning course,btw if u do best in this course u will be overwhelmed by the job prospects,every course whether gud or bad have a beginning,a story for u ,an engg exam started 8 or 9 yrs back apprx over 1 lakh ppl sat for it as ppl were in dilemma as u r just now,in 2011 over 13 lakh ppl sat for the exam n the exam is AIEEE,hope u got my point,all the best

Do you think they selected more people than they initially planned on?
Does anyone have the link to a pdf that gave a detailed explanation date/month-wise about the programme? It was one of the links in the AT/PI shortlisted access page. When one opened their account at the AT/PI shortlist thingy then it was right next to the ‘congratulations’ bit. I think it was labelled ‘Programme Information’ or something like that. It had a huge table giving info about the programme. Not the 6 – 7 columns wala. It was around 2-3 pages long.

to correct you in short its not 19lakhs it is 25lakhs. if u include 7000per month hostel fees. and the bank can support u max of 15lakhs and u have to pay 15000 per month as an interst.

Test is on 25..no date for PI yet. Letter will reach you before saturday. And meditate what have you done till today from the day you born.. No preparation matters here. it is what you developed into yourself over past years. Reunite all your capabilities and stand there to conpete with me and other aspirants

rahul yaar if i were at your place i would have gone with the first option..but still it would be fun if we get through this and be a part of this thing…i am going through the maths material i got at the time of my cpt…i think that would be enough..and for english..just going through bbc of my class 12th..dont have much time at this stage so i’m relying more on PI rather than AT..!!

They have shown their narrow mindedness…..SAT was important but they simply ignored it…… result is only based on CBSE
i am a national player of baseball and gave SAT SCORED 740 in MATHS and got 91% in 10th 90% in 11th and becozz i played baseball in 12th i got 80% in 12th…….and also gave SAT after that…I AM going america in few months f*** IIM
What was ur overall sat score? They weren’t just looking 4 math sat scores, scholastic accomplishments matter too. Which uni r u going too in USA and for which course? good luck

Yes, I got shortlisted. I have 83.8% in class xii cbse 2011. But i had 93.6% in class x, 1970 sat-1, 790/800 chemistry sat subject,760/800 maths level-2 sat subject, and a few olympiad top 150 ranks from class 7 & 8. can anyone tell me what will the students who have completed this program be considered as…… MBA’s??????????

And Rahul your dad’s skepticism is understandable but is incongruent in this case. Such fraud’s happen at pvt. universities and colleges.So chill..!!
The possible reason for delay could be server problem ; difficulty in processing the applications or NON-CURABLE CONSTIPATION…hahaha

I have heard of the same case.. But don’t know much details.. Someone put request of applications for a post and just collected application money delaying date of result and just went off with money.. I think this is the same case may be

Because tomorrow is Sunday and so no work and today is Saturday means less work.. So we can start our countdown from 19th September onwards

Its has been a learning experience so far…without even getting there I have already learned so much.Chapters learnt so far:
NAME OF BOOK-> “IIM-I;WE CARE FOR YOU..(haha..you really think so:-p)
1.How to create anxiety for new course.
2.How to pretend that undergrads are respected…lol
3.How to make people anxious and eventually hysterical.
4.Its not what you are told,Its about what you get.
5.Common its an IIM..deal with it or goodbye.
6.Telephones and Mobiles work only when attended..(haha fooled..)
