Nearly 45% of Engineering Seats in Karnataka are filled by Common Entrance Test (CET) with a fee of Rs 35000 from now on. A Five Thousand Rupees hike against previous year’s Rs 30000. While the CET counseling in the state is about to commence in the next week, the fee hike news will certainly not make many students happy.
The fee hike is for government quota seats while the private quota seats are going to cost Rs 1.25 Lakhs. The Engineering seats split is as follows from the year 2011 onwards. From this year onwards there is a special quota ‘Supernumery’ Quota for poor & merit students.

However the state government hasn’t taken the decision yet about the proposal, the state will have a meeting with Engineering Colleges and decide on the fee hike.
